John W. Bassett, DDS

John Bassett was born and raised in northern New Jersey and graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1960. He received his formal dental education at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1964. His education continued with an internship in Seattle with the U.S. Public Health Service and two years of active duty on an Indian reservation in Montana. He moved to the Denver area with his wife and young sons Jeff and Eric in 1967, and has been engaged in private dental practice ever since.

John has been active in organized dentistry for over forty years on a local, state, and national level. He has been on the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society, and President of the American Equilbration Society, a prestigious, world-wide organization concerned with disorders of occlusion (bite) and the TMJ's (jaw joints). John has conducted seminars for hundreds of dentists on these subjects in England, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, Australia, America, and the Caribbean since 1978. He continues to mentor many dentists in restorative dentistry, occlusion, and temporomandibular joint disorders. He has been honored by his colleagues for his many contributions to dentistry with Fellowship in the International and American Colleges of Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. His professional goal has always been to command the respect of his colleagues in dentistry, and he has certainly achieved that in his long career.

At the beginning of 2009, John turned the restorative portion of his practice over to Dr. Andrea Taylor, and is now semi-retired, confining his professional involvement to his longtime passion in dentistry, the treatment of occlusal and temporomandibular disorders, on a part-time basis. He continues to treat the patients he serves with the skill, judgment, and humor that have characterized his almost five decades in the dental profession.

John's recreational pursuits have included skiing, hiking, canoeing, fishing, horses, and golf. He was involved in soccer as a player and coach for thirty-five years, and is a nationally licensed soccer coach. He currently lives in Franktown with his wife, Marlene, who is a psychologist in the Douglas County school system. They enjoy five precious grandchildren.

Gerry F. Wallace, DDS

Gerry Wallace grew up in the wine country of Sonoma County in northern California. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Thailand and Taiwan from 1967-70. Following his discharge he attended college at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He then entered dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, graduating in 1976. He was awarded a General Practice Residency in the Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois and then served a three year tour of duty in England. In 1981, after a year at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Gerry left the military to join Dr. Bassett's practice, which at that time was in Aurora.

Gerry keeps his dental skills current by continuing to be active in the dental profession and continuing dental education. In addition to local, state, and national dental associations, he is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration (the leading organization involved in dental implants), and has been a founder and President of the Denver Academy of Clinical Dentistry. He is also a leader in and a former president of the Dentists' Professional Liability Trust. In 2003, Governor William Owens tapped into Gerry's considerable wisdom and appointed him to serve on the Colorado State Board of Dental Examiners, a very prestigious position. His skill and reputation have been recognized by his peers with election into the American and International Colleges of Dentistry.

Gerry is not only a master restorative dentist; he is one of those people who can fix anything. Whether it is around the house, under the hood, down in the bilge, or on a motorcycle, Gerry can fix or restore it. He is a licensed building contractor in the city of Denver, and has used his incredible skill and ingenuity to restore or remodel several of his residences over the years. In the 1980's and 90's Gerry and his wife, Donna, imported and restored English antiques and built a thriving antique business. Gerry and Donna, who met in high school in Santa Rosa, live in the Denver area near their daughter, Ashlee, and her husband and two beautiful children. Ashlee, a talented architect in Denver, is responsible for the design of our present office suite in the Denver Tech Center. He graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in 1981 and spent most of the rest of the decade in school in Omaha, Nebraska. There he earned his B.S and dental degrees from Creighton University, graduating in 1989. He returned to Colorado after graduation and established his own solo dental practice in Aurora, where he worked for seven years. In March, 1997, Dan merged his existing practice with that of Drs. Bassett and Wallace, and became a full partner with them in January of 1998.

Dan is very active in professional endeavors outside the practice. He is a member and past-President of the Colorado Prosthodontic Society, and is current president of the Denver Academy of Clinical Dentistry. Dan is extremely versatile, and both enjoys and excels in most sports. When out of the office, he can often be found, usually with one or more of his kids, in a stream with a fly rod, on an ice rink with a hockey stick, on a basketball court, or occasionally even on a golf course. He answers to the term 'Coach,' because he has coached ice hockey, basketball, and soccer for his kids' teams as they have grown up. His love of hockey and dentistry makes him doubly thrilled to be the team dentist for the Colorado Avalanche. His passion for dentistry is exceeded only by his passion for his children's school activities and sports. Dan and his lovely wife, Carol, live in southeast Denver with 'Team Selner': Hannah, Emma, and Patrick.

Erik A. Palmberg, DDS

Erik Palmberg was born and raised in Iowa. After graduating from High School in Ames, he went north to St Paul Minnesota to study biochemistry at the University of St Thomas. During college Erik was active in research in the biology and chemistry departments, competed regionally with the rowing team, and explored the outdoors of northern Minnesota. Both of Erik's parent's being dentists and deciding to follow in their path, he shifted plans from graduate studies in immunology to dentistry at the University of Iowa graduating in 2010. After graduating, Erik returned to Minnesota to start up practice in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, to be close to his family.

In 2012, fulfilling a lifelong dream, he relocated to the mountains of Colorado to continue practicing dentistry. It was with this move to the mountains that he met his wife Julie LeBlanc, a pediatric dentist here in Denver. After a wonderful ski season together, and another, and another, they decided to spend every ski season together, and were married in early 2015. Erik and Julie have managed to ski together every month since they met, and developed an equal passion for fly fishing, passing their remaining time mountain biking and exploring the Rockies with their dogs, Edith and Greta.

Like Drs. Bassett, Wallace, Selner and Taylor, Erik enjoys being a lifelong student of dentistry. He enjoys being a part of the greater Denver dental community, taking part in many associations, study clubs, societies, etc; and never misses a chance to attend regional and national meetings to further his learning and his practice. He sees his place in this practice as a validation of his quest for excellence and professional development, and encouragement to continue on in these pursuits.
